S. leucophylla ‘Tarnok

This cultivar was discovered by Coleman Tarnok in Baldwin County, Alabama about forty years ago. The pitcher color is white with red veins and although they are very attractive it is the flower that sets this sarracenia apart from all others.  The flower is highly mutated with numerous whorls of tepals (undifferentiated sepal and petals).  The flower is green at the base and gradually changes to a deep maroon.  These flowers are striking and last throughout the growing season.  This plant is sterile and only propagated through division or tissue culture. Royalties from each plant sold go to the endangered plant conservation program at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
