Delivery Information

Shipping Method

We ship our plants with the United States Postal Service (USPS) using USPS Priority Mail.  Orders should arrive within 2-3 days of shipment.

Shipment Tracking

Once your order is shipped, you will receive an automated confirmation email with a USPS tracking number.  You can track your order at

Shipping Times

We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays, ensuring that you plants arrive before Sunday when the USPS does not operate.  Orders taken on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday may often not be shipped until the following week.

Shipping Charges

Postage is calculated automatically by software provided by the USPS when you begin the checkout process.  The cost is based on estimated weight and the distance your order is being shipped.  We charge the actual shipping costs, which often vary  from the shipping calculator estimate. We adjust the charges to reflect the actual shipping costs on the day your order ships. The largest adjustments are usually realized when large plants are ordered.  In addition to postage we charge a flat $5.00 box and packing fee for all orders regardless of size.

We guarantee that your plants will arrive alive and in good condition.  We will refund the purchase price of any plant that arrives in unsatisfactory condition with a store credit. This guarantee is subject to the following restriction and instructions:

Orders delayed or mishandled by the carrier do not qualify.

Guarantee does not apply to tropical plants (Orchids, Nepenthes, etc.) shipped when day time temperatures are below 45F.

You must contact barschtropicals at  within 48 hours of the plant’s arrival to request a refund.

Note:   Some of the plants we sale are temperate perennials and are dormant in the winter.  They may appear unhealthy or even dead if they arrive during their dormancy period.  However, they are perfectly healthy and will resume growth in the spring.

Extreme-Weather Shipping

We will delay shipping when we are aware of a major winter storm or heat-wave that could harm your plants.  However, we are not able to monitor and predict weather for all US locations.  It is the buyer’s responsibility to understand their own local weather conditions and place their orders accordingly.

We do not recommend shipping tropical plants (Orchids, Nepenthes, etc.) when daytime temperatures are blow 45F.  We do offer optional heat-packs that will keep tropical plants warm during cold, but not freezing weather.  If you have questions or concerns about shipping tropical plants in marginal weather conditions contact us at barschtropicals at .

We do not accept returns.  Please do not return plants. Contact barschtropicals at  for details.
